The coaches only have the boys for a couple hours a day. We can make sure that they are hydrated on the field but we need the parents help to ensure that the boys are as protected as they can be from heat injury, this starts at home.

•Hydrate well before thirst kicks in. Once you are thirsty you are already dehydrated. The boys need to drink water regularly during the summer heat before and after practice.

•Do not allow your child to drink beverages with caffeine before exercise because they increase the rate of dehydration.

•Do not allow your child to eat junk food or sugary snacks before practice.

Click here to visit the American Red Cross for more information about heat injuries.

We have implemented a work/rest schedule for temperatures over 95 degrees. The football players will practice in full pads for 15 minutes and then be given a 10 minute break during the break they will take off their helmet and shoulder pads and water will be provided. The players will be monitored by the coaching staff to ensure they are drinking plenty of water.

When temperatures are over 100 degrees practice will be conducted in shorts, t-shirts and cleats. The amount of physical activity will be limited.

If temperatures rise to 105 degrees practice will be cancelled.

The website will be updated daily in the event of a heat wave/warning with the proper uniform for the day and/or cancellation of practice.

Thank you for your continued support we look forward to a safe and successful season.
